Unused Medication Collection

Inland Hospital participates in the annual Unused Medication Collection and Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off hosted by the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments (KVCOG). Local residents are encouraged to drop off any unwanted medications and other hazardous household waste for proper disposal to help keep toxic chemicals out of our environment and drinking water supply and also out of homes where they can lead to accidental poisoning or abuse. KVCOG and participating towns also process and dispose of items such as old oil based paint, gas, motor oil, pesticides, cleaners, pool chemicals and other difficult to get rid of materials that could potentially harm people and pets.

For more information on the next drop off event, please contact your town office, public works department, or Ross Nason at KVCOG, 453-4258, ext. 24.

For information on disposing of unused medications year-round visit the Safe Medicine Disposal for ME program’s website.
