Welcome Dr. Alicia Brown, Family Doctor

Release Date: 07/11/2014

Inland Hospital is pleased to welcome Alicia Brown, DO, a family medicine doctor, to Inland Family Care. Dr. Brown joins Jennifer Penney, Family Nurse Practitioner and Jack Barnard, Physician’s Assistant at our downtown Waterville practice.

Dr. Brown is board-certified in Osteopathic Family Medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed her residency with Maine Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency.

Dr. Brown says, “I plan on practicing full spectrum family medicine, including pre-natal and obstetric care, pediatric, adult, and elder care, along with preventive medicine.   I enjoy providing Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, and do most dermatologic and gynecological procedures.”

She first went into medicine because she saw how many people were frustrated with the current system of difficult access to healthcare and the inability to connect well with physicians.  Dr. Brown feels, “Family medicine is a great way to deliver good access and develop good relationships with people.  I love being able to see a broad range of people and issues, and being able to do a little of everything keeps me on my toes!”

Dr. Brown has lived in the Waterville area for ten years and looks forward to caring for the people in this community that she calls home.

When not working in medicine, she and her husband enjoy spending time on the family farm, where they live with his mother and grandfather.  They manage 300 acres of pasture, hay land, and woodlots, raise beef cattle, and grow garlic.  They enjoy caring for the land and the animals, and are proud to maintain organic and animal welfare approved certifications.

Dr. Brown is accepting new patients at Inland Family Care in downtown Waterville (16 Concourse West). Please call the office today to schedule an appointment - 873-1036.
