Dr. Glover Receives Posthumous Honor

On June 9, 2018 the Maine Osteopathic Association (MOA) recognized osteopathic physicians who have made significant contributions to the osteopathic profession and their community at its annual President’s Awards Luncheon at the Samoset Resort in Rockland; held in conjunction with the MOA Annual Convention.

This year the late Henry Glover, D.O. was recognized as the 2018 Louis Hanson, D.O. Physician of the Year recipient. The Louis Hanson award is given to a D.O. who has demonstrated a high quality of practice, a compassionate interest in patients and a commitment to his or her community (local, state or international, and involvement in osteopathic hospitals, colleges, etc.) and is named in memory of a terrific osteopathic physician, colleague, father, husband and dear friend taken too soon, Louis Hanson, D.O.

Dr. Glover, who spent 35 years practicing as a family physician with Inland Hospital in the Waterville and Oakland communities, received numerous awards for excellence in medicine including, the Young Physician of the Year and Central Maine's Physician of the Year. In 2015 he was awarded the “Best of the Best” physician by Market Surveys of America, a testament to his reputation as a skilled and compassionate family physician.  He served on numerous state and hospital boards and was loved by the osteopathic community. Henry M. Glover, D.O. died unexpectedly on January 13, 2018.

The award was accepted by his wife, Michelle Glover. The awards luncheon was attended by John Dalton, President of Inland Hospital, American Academy of Osteopathy President and Inland Hospital Chief of Staff Catherine Kimball, DO, and other Inland physicians including Kamlesh Bajpai, DO, Charles Kriegel, DO, Loraine Paradis, DO, and Daniel Pierce, DO. Dr. Glover’s practice manager, Ellen Clarke, and her husband Charlie, and others close to Dr. Glover also attended to honor Dr. Glover’s memory.
