On Saturday, October 10, the Birthing Center at Inland Hospital and Inland Women’s Health Care hosted over 100 expectant mothers, dads-to-be, grandmothers, and other family and friends at Maine’s Biggest Baby Shower.
The event offered free pre-natal and well baby information at exhibits by local organizations, as well as a helpful talk with Inland’s Women’s Health Care’s newest OB/GYN, Dr. William Bradfield, tours of the Birthing Center and Inland Women's Healthcare, and plenty of food, games, and prizes. Nicole Demchak of Fairfield was the lucky winner of the grand prize, a stroller and car seat donated by Inland Hospital, WalMart, KSW Federal Credit Union, and Caring Connections. Nicole stated although this is her second pregnancy, the stroller was a “wonderful surprise” because she still needed one. “I never win anything so when I told my friends and family, they didn’t believe me.”
Parents-to-be learned important information on breastfeeding, immunizations, car seat safety, hearing screenings, weight loss after pregnancy, local parenting resources, and much more in a casual, fun environment.
