ACE Inhibitor at discharge - Graph and Details

ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitors and ARB (angiotensin receptor blockers) are drugs that improve the functioning of the heart, particularly in patients after heart attack or in those with heart failure. One of the effects of these drugs is to enlarge blood vessels so that blood pressure is reduced. Lowering the blood pressure makes it easier for the heart to pump blood, especially for patients with heart failure. It’s important that most patients with heart failure be given these drugs at discharge.
