Hand Hygiene - Graph and Details
Normal human skin is often colonized by different bacteria which can be transient or resident. Handwashing with soap and water has been considered important elements of personal hygiene for nearly two centuries.
In the healthcare setting, these bacteria can be transferred from patients to healthcare providers, to medical devices and to other patients. The simple act of hand hygiene, using either soap and water or hand sanitizing gels every time a provider enters and exits a patient room or after any direct patient contact, can reduce this risk of infection.
